Outdoor Living Design Goals
This project began as a full-property landscape renovation, with the homeowner seeking a complete refresh of their exterior space. Beyond updating plant material, their primary goal was to create a functional outdoor living area that could support grilling, lounging, and even accommodate a future hot tub installation.
Demolition & Landscape Renewal
Our team removed all existing plant material surrounding the home to establish a clean foundation for the new design. This comprehensive approach allowed us to rethink the layout holistically—ensuring the new patio and landscape worked together as one cohesive environment.
Patio Design & Installation
We installed a clean, linear patio layout that added more than 400 square feet of usable outdoor living space. The expanded footprint provides dedicated areas for cooking, relaxing, and reserving space for a future hot tub—ensuring the design supports both current and long-term needs.
The patio surface was constructed using Unilock Beacon Hill Flagstone and XL slab pavers in the Fossil color. A 4×8 Holland Premier border in Dark Charcoal frames the space, adding subtle contrast and definition to the design.
Connectivity & Flow
To create a seamless transition between the patio and lawn, we installed additional Beacon Hill XL slabs as stepping stones. This detail enhances circulation throughout the backyard while maintaining material continuity across the space.
Landscape & Privacy Enhancements
New plantings were installed to soften the hardscape and integrate the patio naturally into the surrounding environment. In addition to visual balance, these plantings provide added privacy and seasonal interest—ensuring the outdoor living space feels inviting and well-established.
A Versatile Outdoor Retreat
